The Kumiay community of San José de la Zorra is located at a height between 335 and 365 meters above sea level, in a valley surrounded by mountains and hills of up to 800 and 900 meters, where beautiful landscapes formed by granite rock, mountain chaparral vegetation, as well as streams and pools of water, as well as the vestiges and sacred sites of the indigenous community predominate.
The Mat Kiñush interpretive path invites you to learn more about the importance of the ecosystem that surrounds it, the transmission of ethnobotanical knowledge, biocultural relationships and the quest to maintain a sustainable balance in the community and the environment.
This interpretive trail has 9 information forms, where you can learn about the diversity of the flora and fauna of San José de la Zorra, as well as the culture and traditions explained by the local guide.
You can try the traditional dishes prepared by the Kumiay cooks, accompanied by artisanal wines grown and made in the same community, as well as purchase the variety of handicrafts made with reeds and acorns.
We invite you to walk the interpretive path in a way that respects the community and the environment and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
